Rachael Bowen is a Nurse Practitioner at Magnolia Functional Wellness in Southlake, Texas, bringing years of hands-on clinical experience across some of the most demanding hospital settings before transitioning into functional and regenerative medicine.
Rachael's clinical foundation was built at the bedside. She started her career as a floor nurse at Methodist Dallas Medical Center before advancing into the intensive care unit, where she spent several years managing critically ill patients — ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, rapid clinical deterioration, and the kind of high-acuity decision-making that sharpens clinical instincts in ways that can't be taught in a classroom. ICU nursing requires an understanding of how organ systems interact under stress, how medications affect physiology in real time, and how to recognize subtle changes before they become emergencies. That training shows up every day in how Rachael evaluates and monitors patients at Magnolia.
After completing her Nurse Practitioner degree, Rachael transitioned into post-acute care, where she managed complex patients recovering from surgeries, strokes, cardiac events, and prolonged hospitalizations. Post-acute medicine requires balancing multiple active medical problems, coordinating medication regimens, and making ongoing clinical decisions without the immediate backup of a hospital's full resource infrastructure. It's the kind of practice that builds independent clinical judgment and comfort with medical complexity.
