MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Dr. Farhan Abdullah, DO
Dr. Farhan Abdullah is a board-certified internal medicine physician and the Medical Director of Magnolia Functional Wellness in Southlake, Texas. He brings a rare combination of hospital-based clinical training and specialized certification in functional medicine, hormone therapy, and regenerative protocols — an approach built on diagnosing root causes, not just managing symptoms.
His credentials extend well beyond traditional medical training. Dr. Abdullah holds certifications from the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM), the Functional Medicine Academy (FMA), the Hormonal Health Institute (HHI) for bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, the R3 Stem Cell Institute for regenerative medicine, and the Ketamine Academy for ketamine-assisted therapy. Each of these represents dedicated post-graduate clinical training that informs how he evaluates and treats patients at Magnolia.
Dr. Abdullah shares physician-led educational content on hormone optimization, TRT, and regenerative medicine through his @RegenDoc platform on Instagram, Tiktok, and YouTube.
Dr. Abdullah maintains active hospital privileges as an attending hospitalist at Methodist Dallas Medical Center and Methodist Southlake Medical Center, where he manages complex internal medicine cases across inpatient, post-acute, and rehabilitation settings. This isn't a background detail — it's a daily practice that keeps his diagnostic instincts sharp and his understanding of systemic disease current. When he's evaluating a patient's hormone panel or designing a TRT protocol, he's doing it with the clinical judgment of a physician who also manages cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, and multi-system illness in a hospital setting every week.
He also serves as Adjunct Clinical Instructor at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at TCU and the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) School of Osteopathic Medicine, where he contributes to the training of the next generation of physicians.
Why Dr. Abdullah Built Magnolia Functional Wellness
After more than a decade practicing hospital medicine, Dr. Abdullah saw firsthand what years of unaddressed hormonal decline, metabolic dysfunction, and chronic inflammation eventually produce — the patients who end up admitted with consequences that could've been intercepted years earlier. Magnolia was built to intervene upstream: physician-led evaluation, comprehensive diagnostics, and individualized treatment plans that address the root physiology driving symptoms like fatigue, weight gain, cognitive decline, low libido, and mood changes.
His internal medicine foundation means hormone optimization, weight management, and regenerative therapies are never evaluated in isolation. Thyroid function, cardiovascular risk, metabolic status, sleep quality, and medication interactions all factor into every clinical decision. That systems-level thinking is what separates a physician-directed practice from the growing number of clinics running templated protocols without the training to manage the complexity underneath.
Outside the Clinic
When he's not seeing patients or rounding at the hospital, Dr. Abdullah spends his time with his wife and three children, along with their cats. He's a lifelong sports fan who plays basketball and pickleball regularly, and he and his wife are dedicated to exploring the Dallas restaurant scene — with Tatsu holding the top spot as his all-time favorite. The Dallas Mavericks are his lifelong love and 90% of why he moved to DFW.
